February 21, 2018 Meeting Notes

President Peggy Gibbons called the meeting to order at 12:00 PM. She also reminded folks to sign up for the upcoming After Hours Event on 3/1.  We’d love to see you all there!

HHH Seminar, Tina Pierquet and Michelle Mulloy
Michelle thanked everyone for help/volunteers last month with Fundraising and Sponsorship for the next upcoming HHH on October 10, 2018, and focused this month on Sponsorship, an email has been sent to past Sponsors but we need new and more Sponsors this year, please see three updated Forms with details on the back table!  Our goal last year was $26,000K and this year we’d like to do more!

Marketing-Lori O’Connor  (Marketing Chair)
Lori shared the results from last month’s goal to increase the awareness in Social Media specifically Linked In and we had 30 participants with over 100 posts in the Scavenger Hunt.  The prize winners were announced, congrats to Denise M and Bonnie K. J

It’s not too late to join, let her or any Tiffany know if you need assistance.

Carol welcomed the following three new members:

  • Heather Milbach - Schreiber Foods
  • Jennifer Schmohe - Circles Green Bay

Carol also reminded members there will be another drawing next month for the “bring a guest” program and asked small businesses if interested to let her know and we’d purchase a $25 gift certificate rom you on behalf of MW.

Awards-Gina Evans
Gina reminded us of the due date coming up of 3/1 for the MW scholarship applications and asked Robyn Davis to speak on the NAF award as a past recipient.  She shared her humbling experience and asked everyone to look around and nominate someone, we all deserving and we need to CELEBRATE ONE ANOTHER(bag of confetti example)! And if you are nominated make sure you pursue the nomination/process and interview, you deserve it or you would not have been nominated!

Missy shared our upcoming monthly luncheon speaker for March 21st, speaker will be  Sandy Stevens-Berens. The title of Sandy’s presentation is: Moving from Good, to Great and Beyond.

Peggy Gibbons asked members wanting to make short one-minute announcements to come forward.

  • Kasha from the Neville Public Museum shared info on the exhibits, the last Brewing workshop in March as well as the SPARK( a cultural program for people with memory loss) event monthly on the third Tuesday at 10 am CT(Brochure on back table)
  • Annette reminded members/guests of the exciting event at NWTC, the first annual Womens Business Summit “ A Day of EmpowHERment” on March 8.  Put your business card in the fishbowl on the back table for an opportunity to win a pass free of charge to attend! (Pamphlets on back table with more details)
  •  Kathy Rohde, retired and new member shared as president of Literacy Green Bay the Give Back Program and encouraged everyone to get involved
  •  Stacy from the GB Symphony shared details on the upcoming fundraiser “Eat, Drink & Be Irish” on 3/9 for just $50.00 all you can eat and drink (Brochures on back table)
  • Kimberly Hess from the center for Childhood Safety shared volunteer opportunities as well as an upcoming Summer Camp, more detail on the back table
  • Gina Evans, spoke on behalf of Ben’s wish and an event 2/27-2/28 and to get involved, donate as the GB Packers will be matching every donation and reminded everyone of the great need in the local community
  • Bobbie K of the Brown County Library shared Stacks and Steeples, a music series every Sunday afternoon from 12:30-3:00 pm as well as Titletown Festival on 4/19-4/22 with well-known authors  
  •  Wendy Townsend of GB Sail and Paddle also spoke of the Give Back Green Bay  project with over 31 organizations participating and that we should support this cause as 70% of the donations are under $100.00

There being no further business to come before the membership, the meeting adjourned at 12:26 PM.
