President Alisa Anderson called the meeting to order at 12:03 p.m.  

Committee Reports

After Hours – Vickie Linssen

Vickie announced the following events:

  • Follow up to Sailing, Sup and Kayaking with Green Bay Sail & Paddle (held Thursday, July 26):  The night was a success; member Verchelle Dehn

  • Sunset Yoga at Ledgestone Vineyards on Monday, August 27 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  Experience a basic yoga class during the sunset in the vineyard.  Bring your own yoga mat. Sign up or drop in. Class will be cancelled if it rains (see attached brochure).

  • Summer Read Book Club on August 21 at 5:00 p.m.  Dinner, drinks and discussion will be held at St. Brendan’s Inn.  The book is “Reality-Based Leadership” by Cy Wakeman. There is still room and members can sign up on the website.  Vickie mentioned they’re considering a possible winter book club.

  • Tailgate Grilling Class with Season to Taste on Monday, September 24 to be held at Bottle Room.  Due to limited space, the event is open to Management Women members only.  Cost is $30 and remember to wear your favorite team apparel.

 

Heels, Hopes & Higher Education Event – Tina Pierquet

Save The Date postcards for the October 10, 2018 event are available.  The committee is still seeking sponsors and donations (wine, cash, coffee, gift certificates, etc.).  Tina reminded us that this is the only fundraiser each year.

Carol announced 4 new members:  Stephanie Faulds (Schreiber Foods), Kelly Hermanson (Morgan Stanley), Cheryl Donaldson (Northwestern Mutual) and Amanda Johnson (Howe Community Resource Center).

Alisa invited members wishing to make a short one-minute announcement to come forward:

  • Kathy Rhode, Literacy Green Bay announced the 4th Annual Walk for Literacy.  Walk through Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary on Saturday, September 8.

  • Marie Burgoyne, Furs & Clothing of Distinction announced they’re currently having one of their best sales of the summer.  Stop in or call Marie to make an appointment.

  • Jennifer Schmohe, Circles Green Bay announced they are currently seeking volunteers.  They’re in need of women to lend their skills, expertise, time, talents and connections to area women to help them out of poverty.  Contact Jennifer if interested.

  • Vicki Perron, Forward Service Corporation announced they’ve moved into their new building on Cherry Street and are holding on Open House today.  Drop in anytime between 2:00 – 5:00 to tour the new facility.

Alisa shared the following quote by Abraham Lincoln:  “The best way to predict the future is to create it.”

There being no further business to come before the membership, the meeting was adjourned at 12:16 p.m.
