Management Women Scholarship
Each year, Management Women, Inc., offers scholarships to women pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited institution of higher learning. A scholarship may be awarded to a female sponsored by a Management Women member or to a member who is pursuing further educational opportunities. Members of the Management Women Awards Committee review the scholarship applications and rate them based on three categories: personal/professional potential, scholastic ability and volunteer activities. The names of both the applicants and their Management Women sponsors are kept confidential to ensure objectivity during the scoring process.
This year, we received 38 applications and we are awarding scholarships to 11 very deserving women. Funds for our scholarships are raised through the annual Management Women Fall Seminar.
MW SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS Stacie Barta - Stacie is currently a Senior at Luxemburg High School . She carries a 3.874 GPA, and is currently working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Algoma Long Term Care Unit. Stacie is attending the University of Wisconsin Green Bay this fall and has already been accepted into the Bellin College of Nursing program. Her goal is to pursue her career as a Registered Nurse. Stacie was sponsored by Jeanne Stangel.
Cheryl DeLair - Cheryl is currently a Sophomore at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College enrolled in the Respiratory Therapy Program. She maintains a 3.651 GPA, and is looking forward to graduating in the Spring of 2009. Cheryl would like to work with Hospice, to give back some of the support they provided when she needed them for her family needs. Cheryl was sponsored by Crystal Heckel.
Marybeth Falish - Marybeth is currently a Senior at Green Bay East High School . She has a 3.82 GPA, and plans to attend the University of Wisconsin Madison in the fall majoring in Journalism and Public Relations. Marybeth is a very determined and disciplined young lady - earning her 2nd degree black belt in karate and completing over 250 hours of community service. Marybeth was sponsored by Traci Watson.
Jenna Grossardt - Jenna is currently a Senior at Preble High School . She maintains a 3.98 GPA and will attend the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in the fall to pursue a degree in Nursing. Jenna said she has always had the calling to be in the medical field. She is also a piano instructor, and has learned that personal expectations drive motivation to achieve dreams! Jenna was sponsored by Sue Porath.
Emily Hatfield - Emily is currently a Senior at Notre Dame High School . She maintains a 3.9 GPA and will pursue a degree in pre-medicine at the University of Wisconsin - Madison this fall. Last year, Emily had the opportunity to travel to Guatemala with the Spanish club from Notre Dame, which has led her to achieving her dream to become a pediatrician, mastering the Spanish language and moving to a country similar to Guatemala to help children facing poverty. Emily was sponsored by Julie Busse.
Robin Lange - Robin is currently a Senior at Neenah High School . She maintains a 3.9 GPA and will be attending St. Olaf College in Minnesota to study Biology and Pre-Med. Robin teaches first aid, CPR and AED to the community through the Red Cross. Robin was sponsored by Trish Sandoz.
Kara Mathys - Kara is a Sophomore at the University of Wisconsin - Madison . She maintains a 3.365 GPA while in the Nursing Program as well as studying Spanish. She is a student leader in her residence hall, and involved in various athletic programs as well as recently passed her CNA exam. Kara was sponsored by Betsy Mitchell.
Elizabeth Sengstock - Elizabeth is a Senior at Ashwaubenon High School . She maintains a 3.857 GPA and will attend the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities to study Biochemistry, Cells and Genetics. Elizabeth 's ultimate career goal is to research biochemistry and the genetics of Autism and create permanent solutions to the disabilities affecting many children today. She will also pursue her doctorate in Biochemistry. Elizabeth 's sponsor was Pam Hopps.
Katelyn Thode - Katelyn is a Senior at Bay Port High School . She maintains a 4.049 GPA and will pursue a degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Wisconsin - Madison this fall. Katelyn aspires to become an engineer. She hopes to save people's lives - helping the global economy and breaking down business barriers between countries to work closer together. Katelyn's sponsor was Trish Sandoz.
Ashley Ullmer - Ashley is currently a Senior at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee . She maintains a 3.84 GPA and is enrolled in the College of Engineering and Applied Science, studying industrial and manufacturing engineering. Additionally, she is enrolled in the University's Honors College and has acquired her Honors Degree. Ashley has already accepted an internship with the Nissan Motor Company in Mississippi . She's had a lifelong interest in automobiles, which has led her to focus on the quality control and process engineering sector of industrial engineering. Ashley was sponsored by Brandi Goodman.
Astina Zuleger - Asti is a Senior at Ashwaubenon High School . She has maintained a 3.264 GPA and will attend the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh this fall studying ART/Graphic Art Design. Asti joined the Art Club in high school and had one piece of her artwork displayed at the state capital. Asti has a true love for dance as well and has attended many dance competitions and also teaches. She was sponsored by Judy Johnson and Stephanie Wachholz.
Professional Achievement Award
The Nancy A. Felhofer Professional Achievement Award is presented annually in May. The award recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of a Management Women, Inc. member.
