Dear Management Women, Inc. Members,
I am truly excited to be serving as your president this year. The months of cooler weather, fall scents and colorful sights are right around the corner and I can’t believe that it is almost October already! You know what else I can’t believe? Our Heels, Hopes and Higher Education Annual Event is also right around the corner! That’s right…coming up on October 10th at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center, get ready for a fun-filled day with our guest speaker, Kelli Thompson. Kelli will be presenting “Life’s Messy, Succeed Anyway” and I am truly looking forward to the event.
The Mission of Management Women, Inc. is to promote professional growth and development of women, by women. HHH is the heartbeat of our mission, as this event provides the dollars we use to award scholarships to local women pursuing their post-secondary education.
This past year we were privileged to present ten deserving young women with a scholarship, adding up to $20,000. This speaks to the dedication and contribution that each one of our members makes. Our goal is to offer this amount to the community for scholarships year over year using funds generated from HHH. Your growth and development is also important to us as well, therefore funds from dues are used to support our monthly luncheons and after-hour events. What we have found in the past is that this is a balanced way to help us sustain our organization and to continue to give back to as many deserving young women as we can.
One last update I’d like to share is that Management Women, Inc. is now a proud sponsor of the Adopt-A-Highway Program here in Brown County. That’s right! Our Adopt-A-Highway section is on Highway 32, south of East De Pere, from Wrightstown Road to Midway Road and our sponsorship sign will be installed soon. We will be having clean-up for the section of road 3 times a year, from April 1 to November 1. It will only take a few ladies each session to help clean-up and keep our section of road trash-free. Be on the lookout for sign-up dates and join us for this great cause. Fun fact: there will be “Trash BINGO” involved and this means guaranteed fun (and also some prizes)!
In closing, Management Women, Inc. truly has so much to offer. As we journey on through the upcoming year, I encourage you to be active in the organization and get involved in a way that works best for you. Volunteering at monthly luncheons, attending networking, after-hours events and committee involvement are all wonderful ways to meet and form friendships with an amazing group of women! Should you have questions along the way, please reach out to me or any other board member. We are happy to help!
I am honored to be part of such an amazing organization and look forward to spending the rest of the year with such an amazing group of women!
