Management Women Scholarships

Management Women offers scholarships to women pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited institution of higher learning. Scholarships may be awarded to female applicants sponsored by a Management Women member or to members who are pursuing further education in the upcoming year.

Recipients are selected by the Awards Committee based on personal/professional potential, scholastic ability, extracurricular activities and contributions to the community. Those interested must complete the scholarship application.

Please read carefully, save a copy of the application to your PC, fill out the application (save to your PC for your records) and email it along with the supporting documents to Brenda Heinzen.

Management Women Endowment Scholarships

Management Women also provides scholarships through endowments at UW-Green Bay, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and the Bellin Foundation. Please contact these organizations directly to learn how to apply for a scholarship through the Management Women Endowment Fund.

Management Women Leadership Award

The Nancy A. Felhofer Leadership Award is presented annually in June. This award recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of a Management Women member. Why not nominate a Management Women member you know? Or … nominate yourself!

Nominees must be members in good standing for a minimum of two years. Any member who received the award in the past five years is not eligible. The award winner is chosen by a panel of non-Management Women judges.

History of the Nancy A. Felhofer Leadership Award

Management Women, Inc. has been in existence since 1983 and we have been recognizing a member  each year since the 1984-1985 fiscal year. Though the details are a little sketchy, it appears that five women received awards-Charlotte Danstrom received the Woman of Achievement Award; the Academia Award went to Mavis Kryzanek; the Corporate Award went to our first President, Dorothy Galiger; the Entrepreneurial Award went to Donna Floberg; and the Government/Nonprofit Award went to Sally Dodd. The following year, the name was changed to the "Award for Professional Achievement."  In 2012 the name of the award was changed to the Nancy A. Felhofer Leadership Award.

Nancy Felhofer was a member and past president of Management Women when she passed away very suddenly in 1998 at the age of 34. At the time of her death, Nancy was one of the first women to be a Vice President  in Business Banking at Associated Bank, and she and her husband, Michael, had started a very successful business, Door County Candle Company.

Nancy was an extremely active volunteer who shared her time and talents with a variety of organizations in the community. Nancy was also an 8 year breast cancer survivor and the co-founder of the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Awareness Valk. This event, now called Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, was the first of its kind in this area and has raised well over $1 million dollars since it was started in 1993. Nancy passed away in April before finding out that she had been selected as the 1998 recipient of the Management Women Award for Professional Achievement. Although she left us far too soon, her spirit will never be forgotten. Each spring when the daffodils bloom and when we recognize a Management Women member with this award, those that knew her think about Nancy. To honor and recognize her, the award was renamed the Nancy A. Felhofer Professional Achievement Award the next year.

In 2012 we are once again changing the name of the award to be called the Nancy A Felhofer Leadership Award, in hopes of increasing excitement around this award and making it about more than just professional achievement and leadership, by including personal achievements and community involvement,

We will announce the name of the newly renamed 2012 Nancy A Felhofer Leadership Award recipient at our June 20, 2012 meeting.  Please join us for this very special presentation.
