Julie Aderhold is not only an active member of Management Women, she is an entrepreneur, a leader in our community, and an inspiration to all who know her.
Julie has accomplished much both personally and professionally. On a personal level, she is most proud of breaking the cycle of how she was raised and creating a healthier, more stable environment for her children. She is truly proud of her 33-year marriage to her husband, Craig, and the love, trust, and connection she shares with her adult children. They are the greatest blessing in her life.
Professionally, Julie is proud of following her heart, even when it meant going against expectations. When she had her first child at age 30, she left a senior account executive position. She faced criticism from her peers, who questioned why she would walk away from such a great job. However, Julie believes that leadership and influence come in many forms, and she knew that being at home was where she could make the greatest impact at that time.
In December 2020, Julie made another bold move by stepping down as Executive Director of a nonprofit to start her own business. She trusted her instincts and has found that leading her business with authenticity has attracted the clients that she is best equipped to serve and that staying true to her values is the most powerful way she can lead.
In the future, Julie’s vision is to maintain a meaningful balance between her personal and professional lives. She is looking forward to becoming a grandmother this November, and she plans to continue with her business while remaining flexible enough to be present for her family.
Julie has been inspired by a number of people over the years, including her adult children. She says her children live with integrity, love deeply, and place relationships above material things. Watching them live their values encourages Julie to keep growing into the best version of herself.
Her relationship with Nancy Felhofer also had a lasting impact on Julie’s life. Nancy invited Julie to her first management women meeting back in the 1990s when Julie didn’t even feel like she even belonged in the room. Nancy became one of Julie’s dearest friends, and Nancy’s belief her in gave her confidence in her early career and leadership journey.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with majors in marketing and journalism from UW-Eau Claire. She is an active volunteer and has served as president of Management Women and in several other roles on the Board. In addition, she was Finance Committee Chair and a Parish Council member at her church, coordinated a meals program at NEW Shelter, taught marketing through the SCORE program, was co-chair of the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Awareness Run/Walk, and has donated many hours of organizing services to local nonprofits. Julie has been a member of the Inspired Organizer Network, the Brown County Homeless & Coalition, Green Bay Advertising Federation, and Mothers and More. She has also shared her organizing knowledge on a national podcast and on the FOX 11 morning show.
An avid runner, Julie has completed 10 full marathons, including 4 Boston Marathons and acts as an “Angel” for my Team Triumph, enabling athletes with disabilities to participate in endurance events.
Julie offers this advice to a woman launching her career today:
- Do what you truly love. You likely already know deep down what that is. Don’t let fear or the opinions of others steer your course and don’t worry if the path isn’t clear. Once you follow what lights you up, the path will reveal itself. When you’re aligned with your passions, leadership comes naturally.
Congratulations Julie! And thank you for all you do for Management Women and for our community.
