About Laurie Butz:
Laurie Butz, President and CEO of Capital Credit Union since November 2021, brings over 35 years of astute business and financial services expertise. Her distinguished career spans senior leadership roles in HR, Organizational Development, Training, Sales Administration, Investments, and Insurance Services across both profit and nonprofit sectors.
A tireless advocate for community well-being, Laurie has chaired the boards of YMCA of the Fox Cities, United Way Fox Cities, and the personnel committee for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fox Valley. Currently, she serves on the Boards of Greater Green Bay Chamber of Commerce, New North, Good Will of NCW, Corporate Central Credit Union and the Advisory Board for the Business School at UWGB.
Laurie holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UW Green Bay and a master’s degree in business administration from UW Oshkosh. Her Certified Chief Executive (CCE) designation through CUES underscores her leadership prowess. Additionally, she is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt, a testament to her commitment to excellence.
In 2022, Laurie received the Beta Gamma Sigma honor from UW Oshkosh, recognizing her outstanding achievements in business. The Lifelong Achievement Athena Award from the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce in 2023 further celebrates her impactful journey. She was also named a 2024 Titan 100 for the state of Wisconsin and most recently received the 2025 Titan 100 award again.
Laurie is a lifelong resident of Green Bay, WI where she married her husband Dennis who retired from PCMC after 27 years to take his hobby to a new level as a full-time fishing captain for Butz Guide Service. Her daughter, Allison and son-in-law, Kholten Eggler, and grandson Theo live and work in the Fox Valley. Laurie is an avid runner and, in her free time loves to read, write, and train with her Golden Retriever Bella. Lastly, while this bio speaks of what Laurie has accomplished throughout her life, she strives to continue to grow and give back. She has learned that leadership is a privilege that comes with great responsibility. She cherishes the relationships she has made and believes strongly that collectively we can make the world a better place by being kind and loving one another.
